What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?

When I was young, I told myself that if I must be a teacher, I must teach at the highest level.

This is necessary because in Nigeria, teachers were treated as if they were second-hand citizens. As such, many children don’t have the ambition of becoming teachers. However, when I was trained as a teacher, I told myself that the best thing is to become a teacher at the highest level.

So, today, I am a professor of the English language. So, promise made and fulfilled.
